On March 23, the Entrepreneurship Avenue team began their long journey to St. Gallen, Switzerland, a town a nine hour bus ride away from our headquarters in Vienna. But it was worth the wait. St. Gallen is the home of the infamous START Summit, a student-organized, international meeting point for entrepreneurs, explorers and curios minds, all excited to benefit from the great amount of keynotes, panel discussions and tech-experiences startups have to offer. Renowned players of the entrepreneurial scene, such as the inventor of the iPod, Tony Fadell, showed up to offer insights into their worlds and motivate the young visitors eager to listen and learn.
The START Summit focuses on innovation in a variety of fields, such as blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, augmented and virtual reality and life sciences, while bringing together students, founders and investors to encourage potential business relations. This year, over 1,500 visitors flocked to be “where innovation happens” and of course, were not disappointed.
Meanwhile, the Entrepreneurship Avenue team used their chance to pitch their cause to a variety of startups present during March 24 and 25. Naturally, we simply had to stop and enjoy the beta versions of the START Summit Startup Fair as well, ranging from a virtual reality flight simulator, to an interactive “Escape the Room” game. Making time between the countless interesting speeches on the main stage, we were able to invite a number of international visitors to the Entrepreneurship Avenue 2017 and were inspired by the organizational talent and entertaining capabilities of the START Summit team. We were honored to have been invited to the congress, a trip that motivated us to do an even better job at our Congress on May 12. All we can say is, it’s time to get the show on the road!
